I am an associate lecturer in library and information studies. I live and work in South East Queensland, Australia. I have a general interest in eBooks, online service provision, and the application of technology in public libraries. In particular, I’m interested in applications of emerging technology in public libraries.

Kate Davis is an Associate Lecturer in Library and Information Science at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Kate began her career in libraries in 2004 as a Reference Librarian at QUT, where she worked while completing her studies in Library and Information Science. In 2005, Kate participated in the graduate program at the National Library of Australia. On completion of the graduate program, Kate worked in various roles including serials cataloguing and reference. Most recently, Kate was Online Futures Librarian at Gold Coast City Council Libraries, where she was responsible for online collections and services. Her research interests centre around the applications of technology to library service provision, particularly in the public library context, the delivery of information literacy training online, virtual reference service provision, and corporate use of social media.
